“Yesterday morning around 9:00 a.m., an officer from our Community Crime Suppression Unit (CCSU) was patrolling the area behind the Century Folsom 14 Theater when they observed a suspicious vehicle. The officer made contact and learned that two of the occupants had outstanding warrants for their arrest, and a third was on probation for multiple prior offenses.
During a probation search of the vehicle, officers found approximately 23 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, narcotic paraphernalia and a loaded .22 revolver (all occupants were convicted felons and prohibited from owning or possessing firearms). Officers also recovered property that was reported as lost or stolen out of Amador County.
Due to restrictions surrounding COVID-19, the two occupants with warrants were cited and released. The individual responsible for the revolver and methamphetamine was arrested and booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on numerous felony firearms and narcotic related charges, along with a violation of his probation status.
CCSU was able to work with the Amador County Sheriff’s Office and later returned the lost/stolen property to the rightful owner.
