Four Arrested in Connection with Belmont Park Vandalism and Related Offenses
ORANGE, CA — In the early morning hours, officers with the graveyard patrol responded to Belmont Park following a report of suspicious activity from a local resident. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered spray paint vandalism across several areas of the park facilities.
During the response, officers detained a group of four individuals found together inside the park, consisting of two adults and two juveniles. Upon further investigation, one of the juveniles was observed to have paint matching the park vandalism on his hands, as well as a marker pen. In addition, officers found a spray can nearby and located a nitrous oxide tank in the group’s possession. One juvenile was also found carrying spent shell casings and an AR-style magazine. Law enforcement conducted a search of the surrounding park area, though no firearms were located.
Both adults were arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on charges of felony vandalism, possession of nitrous oxide, possession of vandalism tools, and a violation of the Orange Municipal Code for being present in the park after dark.
The two juveniles were also arrested for the same set of violations. One juvenile was subsequently released into the custody of his parents. The second juvenile faced additional charges of possessing a high-capacity magazine and providing false identification to an officer. Due to an existing juvenile probation status, he was booked into Juvenile Hall. The police department acknowledged the resident’s call for assisting officers in making the arrests.
