Major Crimes Task Force Arrests Wanted Man Reportedly Caught with Weapons, Narcotics in Hanford
HANFORD, CA — “On August 6, 2026, Investigators with the Kings County Major Crimes Task Force attempted to stop a wanted male subject after observing him driving a car in the area of 11th Avenue and Lacey Boulevard in Hanford.
The male subject was identified as 34-year-old Gilbert Navarro of Corcoran. Navarro resisted Investigators’ efforts to place him into custody.
Navarro was found with a loaded Sig Sauer .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun in his waistband and was subsequently taken into custody.
Further investigation led Investigators to recover a large amount of suspected cocaine and ammunition at Navarro’s residence.
Based on the quantity of narcotics recovered, the presence of sales-related items, and the totality of the investigation, Investigators believe the controlled substances were possessed for the purpose of sales.
Navarro, a convicted felon, was also found to be prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. He was booked into the Kings County Jail on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of controlled substances, possession of controlled substances, and resisting a peace officer.
The investigation remains ongoing.”
