Juvenile Suspect Arrested by Tulare Police SWAT Following Electric Scooter Shooting Incident
TULARE, CA — On July 30, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers with the Tulare Police Department responded to the intersection of B Street and Cross Avenue in Tulare following reports of a shooting.
During the initial investigation, officers determined that two individuals riding electric scooters approached a vehicle stopped at the intersection and fired multiple gunshots at the automobile. None of the vehicle’s occupants were injured by the gunfire. Following the discharge of the firearm, both suspects fled the scene.
The investigation was assigned to the Tulare Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit. Detectives gathered evidence and developed information that identified one of the primary suspects in the case.
On August 4, 2026, Street Crimes detectives, with tactical assistance from the Tulare Police Department SWAT Team, executed a search and arrest warrant at a residential address in the 300 block of North G Street. During the operation, officers arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile. A subsequent search of the premises yielded a handgun, a high-capacity ammunition magazine, and gang-related paraphernalia.
The juvenile was transported and booked into the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility on charges related to the shooting. Police indicated the investigation remains open as detectives work to identify additional suspects.
