Arrested Following Motorcycle Pursuit on US-395 Near Susanville

SUSANVILLE, CA — On July 27, 2026, an officer assigned to the California Highway Patrol Susanville Area office observed a motorcycle traveling northbound on US-395 at a high rate of speed. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the motorcyclist failed to yield, resulting in a motorcycle pursuit along the highway corridor.

During the multi-mile pursuit, the rider exited the primary roadway and entered a nearby residential neighborhood. The individual subsequently abandoned the motorcycle on foot and attempted to flee through the surrounding area.

CHP personnel, with operational assistance from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, established a containment perimeter in the neighborhood. Law enforcement officers located the individual shortly thereafter and took him into custody without further incident.

Authorities identified the rider as a 21-year-old resident of Doyle, California. The suspect was transported and booked into the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility on felony charges of evading a peace officer, as well as reckless driving. The motorcycle was impounded from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
