Woodland Police Arrest Two Juveniles Following Stolen Forklift Vandalism Incident
WOODLAND, CA — Shortly after midnight on July 23rd, the Woodland Police Department received multiple reports regarding a industrial forklift being driven on public roadways by two females. Calls originated from various locations across the city, including reports of reckless operation in local neighborhoods. Responding officers conducted searches of the areas but were initially unable to locate the equipment.
Later during the shift, officers responded to a call reporting that the forklift was being operated inside Ferns Park. Upon arrival, officers observed the vehicle exiting the park property. When officers initiated contact, the two occupants abandoned the forklift and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Officers pursued and detained both individuals, who were identified as juveniles residing in Woodland.
During the subsequent investigation, officers confirmed that the forklift had been reported stolen. Physical evidence at Ferns Park indicated that the equipment was used to damage a concrete curb, overturn a heavy concrete picnic table, and cause damage to surrounding turf grass.
Both juveniles were taken into custody without further incident. They were transported and booked into the Yolo County Juvenile Hall on charges including vehicle theft and felony vandalism.
