Pismo Beach Man Arrested for Allegedly Vandalizing Monterey County ALPR Cameras

traveled to Monterey County and vandalized at least three Flock Safety Automated License Plate Recognition cameras located in the rural communities of Lockwood and Bradley. According to law enforcement, the incidents resulted in several thousand dollars in property damage.
Although the license plate reader units were disabled during the incidents, nearby surveillance systems recorded the activity. Detectives utilized the video footage alongside additional investigative leads to identify Bee as the suspect.
Deputies subsequently located and arrested Bee before booking him into the Monterey County Jail on suspicion of felony vandalism under Section 594(a)(3) of the California Penal Code. His bail was set at $30,000. County officials noted that the automated camera network is utilized by local law enforcement agencies to assist in criminal investigations, vehicle recoveries, and missing persons cases throughout the region.
