Driver Arrested for Felony Evading Following 30-Mile Pursuit on US-395 Near Susanville
SUSANVILLE, CA — On July 24, 2026, Susanville Area California Highway Patrol officers office observed a Dodge Charger traveling southbound on US-395 at 130 mph. When an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to yield, leading to a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit continued along US-395 for more than 30 miles before the Dodge Charger experienced engine failure and became disabled. Following the mechanical breakdown, CHP officers safely apprehended the driver without further incident.
The individual taken into custody was identified as a 19-year-old resident of Sparks, Nevada. The driver was arrested on charges of felony evading following the pursuit along the highway corridor.
