Career Burglary Offender Linked to Southern California Gym Locker Burglaries
CHINO, CA — An investigation by the Chino Police Department resulted in the arrest of Myles Combs, 46, of Rialto, a career burglary offender suspected of conducting a series of gym-related thefts across Southern California. During the month of June, Combs allegedly engaged in a series of crimes in Chino, where he targeted gym patrons by cutting locks off lockers, stealing vehicle keys, and removing cash and other valuables from vehicles parked outside the facilities.
Chino detectives identified Combs and connected him to the incidents using surveillance footage, investigative techniques, and the city’s camera system. The investigation revealed that Combs has a history of burglary-related offenses and was the subject of an outstanding felony warrant for a similar crime. Investigators have linked him to thefts involving more than $10,000 in documented losses, and additional investigations remain ongoing.
On July 1st, Chino Police detectives collaborated with the Escondido Police Department after Combs allegedly committed another theft at a gym within Escondido’s jurisdiction. As a result of this joint effort, Combs was apprehended and booked into the West Valley Detention Center. He faces charges related to the Escondido offense, the outstanding felony warrants, and the Chino burglary investigation. Following the arrest, investigators sought a bail enhancement based on the recurring pattern of criminal activity.
