Deputies Recover Stolen Property and Arrest Holtville Resident for Residential Burglary
HOLTVILLE, CA — On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 6:45 a.m., deputies from the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Holtville station responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 800 block of Elm Street in Holtville, California. A preliminary investigation revealed that multiple items, including U.S. currency, had been stolen from the home.
Holtville Patrol Deputies initiated an immediate investigation, developing several operational leads that eventually revealed the identity of the suspect. On Monday, July 6, 2026, the suspect was formally identified as 26-year-old Eric Vizcarra, a local resident of Holtville.
Deputies contacted Vizcarra at his residence, where they successfully recovered several of the stolen items, including the missing currency. Vizcarra was placed under arrest and booked into the Imperial County Jail on suspicion of violating California Penal Code section 459 (Burglary), as well as an active probation violation. Due to the nature of the charges, he is currently being held without bail.
The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office will submit a criminal complaint to the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office for formal review and prosecution.
