Butte County Authorities Arrest Two in Shooting Investigation

CONCOW, CA — “On the afternoon of July 04, 2026, deputies with the Butte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting in the 3000 block of Patengil Way in Concow. During the investigation, deputies learned that earlier that afternoon, Kevin Medeiros, 29, and Kya Weaver, 25, both of Concow, had been involved in a verbal altercation with a victim.

Deputies conducted an investigation and located evidence indicating that, during the incident, the victim’s vehicle was vandalized and Medeiros fired multiple rounds from a handgun. Deputies further determined that Medeiros and Weaver fled the area after the shooting. No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.

Detectives responded and obtained a search warrant for Medeiros’ residence, which is located in the 3000 block of Patengil Way. During the service of the search warrant, deputies and detectives located multiple firearms and ammunition. Based on evidence located during the investigation, detectives also obtained an arrest warrant for Medeiros for attempted murder and an arrest warrant for Weaver for felony vandalism.

On the morning of July 5, 2026, deputies and detectives located Medeiros and Weaver driving in the Concow area. Deputies conducted a traffic stop, and both were taken into custody without incident.”
