CHICO, CA — Chico police arrested an individual who allegedly barricaded himself in a hotel room last week.
According to a press release by the Chico Police Department, the department received a report from the Hampton Inn and Suites on the 1600 block of Springfrield Dr., just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, that someone not staying at the hotel had entered a room that was open for housekeeping, locked himself in, and was refusing to come out.
Officers responded to the scene and attempted to contact the individual without success.
Around 12:30 p.m., the individual reportedly called the front desk and agreed to surrender peacefully. The individual, identified as 43-year-old Jerry Leu, exited the room minutes later and was taken into custody.
Leu was later booked into the Butte County jail on suspicion of trespassing and resisting arrest, according to police.
