Suspect Arrested on Narcotics & Weapons Charges After Investigation by ACCNET and TNT
PINE GROVE, CA — Following a months-long investigation, the Amador County Combined Narcotics Enforcement Team (ACCNET), with assistance from the Tuolumne Narcotics Team (TNT), arrested a suspect on narcotics and weapons charges.
The investigation originated from neighbor complaints and tips regarding a residence in Pine Grove, located within Amador County. ACCNET began investigating a subject suspected of distributing methamphetamine across multiple counties, including Amador and Tuolumne. Because the subject resided in Tuolumne County, TNT joined the investigation to provide assistance.
ACCNET obtained a search warrant as part of the case. During the execution of the warrant, law enforcement officers located 35-year-old Joseph Jerry Lecompte. He was found in possession of a half-pound of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun. Officers conducted a subsequent search of Lecompte’s residence, which resulted in the discovery of additional narcotics and a second handgun.
Lecompte was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County jail on offenses related to narcotics and weapons. This is not Lecompte’s first encounter with regional law enforcement, as public records indicate a history of prior arrests in both Tuolumne and Calaveras counties dating back to 2015. His previous offenses include a mix of drug-related charges, outstanding warrants, and more severe violations such as burglary, vehicle theft, and robbery.
ACCNET acknowledged the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office and TNT for their assistance and joint efforts in addressing the sale of controlled substances within their respective jurisdictions.
