Probationer Arrested for Attacking Shoppers at a Target Store in Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY, CA — June 21st 2026 — A Simi Valley man out on probation for prior crimes for less than than 24 hours was
arrested on June 17 for an unprovoked attack of a woman who was shopping at her
neighborhood Target store.
Simi Valley resident Rejean Morgan Tabor, 34, “entered the store
and approached a female shopper from behind” and then proceed to strangle the woman
“while covering her nose and mouth.”
Other customers quickly stepped in, but “were attacked” while attempting to free the
woman. One shopper was reportedly pushed to the floor as she tried to pull Tabor away
from the victim. Another person was allegedly bitten, hit and scratched during the
struggle.
After the woman escaped, Tabor allegedly threw a glass bottle at a Target loss
prevention employee and then “assaulted a 16-year-old customer from behind.”
Simi Valley police officers responded to a 911 Emergency call for service, and
immediately subdued Tabor and took him into custody. He was transported to Ventura
County Jail, where he was booked on felony charges of willful, deliberate and
premeditated attempted murder, misdemeanor battery, misdemeanor assault, and
misdemeanor child abuse.
Having been released from custody on mandatory supervision just the day earlier, Tabor
remains in custody pending a competency hearing with his bail set at $750,000.
