TIBURON, CA — Kamran A. Malek-Madani, 18, of Tiburon, was placed under arrest on June 16 for reportedly kidnapping a teenage girl.
Malek-Madani faces multiple felony charges, following a dispute inside a moving vehicle, and
ultimately a 17-year-old girl fleeing to safety.
Following his voluntary surrendering alongside his attorney, Malek-Madani was booked at
Marin County Jail. Malek-Madani is presently no longer listed in custody.
While still inside the jailhouse, Malek-Madani was served a protective order. It prohibits him
from directly or indirectly contacting the 17-year-old. It further orders him to stay at least 100
yards away from her at all times.
Malek-Madani’s troubles began on June 15 at 2:20 a.m., when a disturbance was reported to
Tiburon police. Officers responded to the area of Avenida Miraflores and Tiburon Boulevard to
investigate, but Malek-Madani but was not there.
Investigators determined the girl managed to flee from a vehicle, following a heated argument
with Malek-Madani. Fearing for her safety, she attempted to exit from the passenger side, but
Malek-Madani allegedly accelerated in reverse, while the door was open.
Malek-Madani next allegedly continued driving more than 2 miles at high speeds, preventing
the juvenile victim from getting out. When she attempted to phone 911, Malek-Madani
reportedly used physical force to grab the phone away from her.
After many harrowing minutes, Malek-Madani reportedly pulled the vehicle over, and the girl
escaped. The victim walked directly to the Tiburon police station, and reported what
happened.
When Malek-Madani surrendered himself following day, he was booked on suspicion of the
following charges –
· False imprisonment
· Kidnapping
