The subsequent investigation revealed that a 21-year-old resident of Woodland was operating the vehicle westbound on Lincoln Avenue. The vehicle drifted from its path, struck three parked vehicles, and subsequently overturned onto its side. Responding law enforcement personnel noted that the driver exhibited signs of impairment, prompting a driving under the influence investigation.

The incident occurred during a grant-funded saturation patrol involving officers with specialized training in DUI detection. The investigating officer had recently completed advanced training funded by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety and holds certification as a Drug Recognition Expert. Following the investigation, the driver was arrested for DUI. Testing indicated the driver’s blood alcohol content was nearly two and a half times the legal limit.
