HOLLISTER, CA — Two unserialized firearms were recovered and one adult male was arrested following a probation compliance check in a Taco Bell parking lot on June 2, 2026.

San Benito County Sheriff’s Deputy Slibsager initiated contact with an adult male occupant of a vehicle parked in the Taco Bell parking lot located on Tres Pinos Road in Hollister. During the initial interaction, Deputy Slibsager determined that the individual was currently on active probation for a prior offense.

Deputy Slibsager and his partner, Deputy Rivas, subsequently initiated a probation search of both the male subject and his vehicle. During the course of the vehicle search, deputies located two firearms. The weapons were identified as an unserialized “P80 style” ghost gun and a small .380 caliber pistol with an obliterated serial number.

Following the discovery of the weapons, the adult male was taken into custody. He was transported to the San Benito County Jail, where he was booked on multiple firearm-related violations.
