HOLLISTER // 37-year-old Fidel Pena has landed himself in hot water after a road rage incident in which he drew a firearm and brandished it at the other motorist.

On October 15th at around 11:30 AM, police were alerted to an incident involving a maroon Honda with dealer plates, driven by a man who had cut off the reporting party’s car while traveling on San Felipe Road where the lanes had joined into one.

Crude hand gestures were followed by Pena brandishing a gun, at which point police were notified.

An officer circled the area in search of the Pena’s vehicle and found him in the area of San Felipe Road and Santa Ana Road. The officer pulled him over and found that Pena’s family was also in the car — his wife, two teens, and a 4-year-old child.

Pena was removed from the car and arrested for brandishing a firearm and child endangerment. When spoken to, Pena’s family initially denied any knowledge of what happened.

They were released at the scene and Pena is now housed at the San Benito County Jail.
