Homicide Suspect Arrested in Ethan Way Stabbing Incident

SACRAMENTO, CA  — “At about 2:30 am on Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call about a stabbing at the 1900 block of Ethan Way. Deputies arrived on scene and located a 51-year-old male with an apparent stab wound inside a residence. Deputies requested emergency medical response and immediately began providing medical attention to the victim. Fire arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Deputies determined the suspect had fled the area on foot just prior to their arrival. A perimeter was quickly established, and a Sacramento Sheriff’s K9 team began tracking the suspect. 37-year-old Jaleisa Ellison was located inside the perimeter and was detained without incident.

Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) and Homicide Detectives responded and processed the scene. Through their investigation, Ellison was identified as the suspect. Ellison was booked into the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Main Jail on murder charges, where she is currently ineligible for bail. Her first scheduled court appearance is 6/16/26 at 1:30pm.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the decedent in accordance with their policy, after next-of-kin notifications have been made.”
