SPD Investigates Homicide

The Sacramento Police Department (SPD) is currently investigating a homicide, according to an official SPD press release.

Police were called ot hte 4300 block of Norwood to investigate the death of a woman resident.

On Wednesday, October 3, at approximately 8:13 pm, police were reportedly called to the 4300 block of Norwood Avenue regarding a dead body.

Family members had come to the victim’s apartment to check on her welfare after not hearing from her for about a day. They reportedly found the victim inside her apartment and immediately called police.

Officers arrived and an investigation ensued. Homicide detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, were called out to the scene. Based on the circumstances known at this time, the SPD believes there is foul play involved.

The victim was in her 70s and lived alone in her apartment. Additional details are not available as the investigation is still ongoing.
