Suspect in Rohnert Park CSAM Case Arrested in Wisconsin

ROHNERT PARK, CA — “A child exploitation investigation initiated by the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) has resulted in the arrest of a Wisconsin man on multiple felony charges related to the possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

In January 2026, a RPDPS detective contacted an investigator with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit regarding a CyberTip received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The investigation identified a suspect believed to be in possession of numerous files containing child sexual abuse material.

The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Brian E. Ayala, who had recently relocated from California to the Racine, Wisconsin area.

Following receipt of this information, investigators with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office ICAC Unit partnered with the United States Marshals Service to locate Ayala. Investigators determined he was residing in the 4300 block of Taylor Avenue in Racine. Arrest and search warrants were subsequently obtained through the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

On June 5, 2026, investigators with the ICAC Unit, members of the Racine County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau, personnel from the United States Marshals Service, and a forensic computer analyst executed a search warrant at the Taylor Avenue residence. During the operation, investigators learned Ayala had recently relocated to a residence in the 2500 block of Jeanne Avenue in Racine. Prior to departing the Taylor Avenue residence, multiple electronic devices were seized as evidence.

Investigators subsequently responded to the Jeanne Avenue residence, where Ayala was taken into custody without incident. Additional electronic devices were also seized as evidence.

Ayala was transported to the Racine County Jail, where he is being held on a $250,000 cash bond. He has been charged with 16 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

The possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material perpetuate the exploitation and victimization of children by creating ongoing demand for the abuse of minors and repeatedly re-victimizing victims each time the material is viewed, shared, or distributed. Unlike many other crimes, the harm to victims does not end when the abuse stops, as these images and videos may continue to circulate indefinitely, causing lasting emotional and psychological trauma.

Investigations targeting individuals who possess, distribute, or produce child sexual abuse material are critical to identifying victims, disrupting exploitation networks, and holding offenders accountable.

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety remains committed to protecting children and holding offenders accountable. The Department will continue to work collaboratively with local, state, and federal partners to protect children, rescue victims, and prevent further exploitation.”
