San Jose Man Arrested for Alleged Assault of Police Officer
SAN JOSE, CA — “On May 17, 2026, at 1:22 AM, San Jose CHP officers were in pursuit of a Mercedes. The Mercedes failed to stop and drove into an apartment complex. The pursuing unit located the Mercedes, which had turned around and was facing ‘nose to nose’ with our patrol vehicle. The passenger officer exited the patrol vehicle and the Mercedes rammed into our patrol vehicle, causing the passenger side door to hit the officer, causing injuries. The driver fled the scene. Officers worked quickly to identify the suspect, and within hours of the incident, the suspect was positively identified. Luckily, our officer did not receive life threatening injuries.”
