Juvenile Arrested on San Diego School Campus with Loaded Firearm Following Ghost Gun Investigation
SAN DIEGO, CA — The San Diego Police Department arrested a 16-year-old male on a school campus on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, after investigators discovered a loaded firearm in his possession.
The arrest followed an investigation by the San Diego Police Department’s Ghost Gun Apprehension Team, which received information indicating that the juvenile was supplying firearms and was involved in a recent robbery at a trolley station. Working in coordination with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, and the San Diego Unified School District Police, officers obtained a warrant and took the teenager into custody at his school.
At the time of the arrest, law enforcement recovered a loaded handgun concealed in the suspect’s clothing. He was charged with carrying a concealed firearm on campus. Officials noted that no other crimes or acts of violence occurred on the school grounds in connection with the individual.
During a subsequent search of the juvenile’s residence, the Ghost Gun Team recovered a 3D printer, carbon filament, 3D-printed machine gun conversion devices, four 3D-printed handgun frames, a handgun magazine and slide, and more than 100 rounds of ammunition in various calibers.
The 16-year-old was transported and booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility. His charges include robbery, illegal gun possession, and gun manufacturing. The San Diego Police Department stated that the case reflects its ongoing efforts to address gun violence and the manufacturing of illegal ghost guns within local communities.
