Riverside Police Seek Information and Identity of Victim in Juvenile Assault Investigation
RIVERSIDE, CA – The Riverside Police Department is seeking public assistance to identify a female juvenile victim and gather additional information regarding an assault reported last month in the downtown area.
The incident occurred on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at approximately 3:13 p.m. Officers responded to a call for service near the intersection of Market Street and 6th Street concerning an assault involving a female juvenile. Upon their arrival, responding personnel determined that all involved parties had departed the scene prior to law enforcement contact, and no identifying information was initially available.
In response, officers reviewed surveillance footage obtained from a local business and collected statements from individuals present in the area. Through these efforts, investigators identified the suspect as an adult male who was observed at the location during the time of the reported incident.
Investigators believe that additional witnesses may have observed the altercation. Because the identity of the young victim remains unknown, the Riverside Police Department is requesting that the juvenile, her family, or any witnesses with relevant knowledge contact authorities. Investigating officers noted that interviewing the juvenile is a key step in clarifying the specific details of the event.
Individuals possessing information regarding this active investigation are asked to contact Detective Steven Espinosa at (951) 826-5959 or via email at Sespinosa@RiversideCA.gov. Anonymous tips may also be transmitted through the department’s “Atlas 1” mobile application using the “Send a Message” feature.
