Man Fatally Shot During Alleged Domestic Violence Incident, Benicia Police Say
BENICIA, CA — May 1st 2026 — “The Benicia Police Department (BPD) and Benicia Fire Department (BFD) responded to a call in the late hours of April 30, 2026 regarding a single gunshot at a home on London Circle. The incident occurred at approximately 10pm and involved several family members, including one juvenile. Upon arrival, emergency services found an adult male with a gunshot wound being rendered CPR. Officers with BPD secured the scene and emergency personnel from BFD took control of the care of the victim. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injury and was declared deceased at the scene.
The incoming call for service was reported as an incident of domestic violence and it was indicated that the weapon was fired in self-defense. All individuals involved lived in the same household. Due to the nature of the incident, and the involvement of a juvenile, no additional information is available at the time of this news release. This remains an active investigation.
