Two Arrested Related to Carjacking & Assault in South Sacramento
SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA — “At approximately 9:22 p.m. on April 13, 2026, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office (SSO) received a report of a carjacking and physical assault at the Fastrip gas station on the 8000 block of Florin Road.
Deputies responded to the scene and located the 42-year-old victim (V1) suffering from multiple injuries sustained during the incident. Deputies located video footage and determined V1 was in a verbal altercation with three male suspects at the location. The incident escalated when one suspect spat on and struck V1’s truck. V1 briefly left the gas station but returned and brandished a large piece of wood. V1 and the suspects got into a physical altercation during which the suspects took the wood from V1. The suspects used their hands, feet, and the wood to assault V1, eventually striking and kicking him while on the ground. During the assault, one suspect got into the victim’s truck and started to drive off. The other two suspects eventually got into the truck, and they left the area.
The SSO Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) identified two of the three suspects from recent proactive contacts.
Robbery detectives obtained arrest warrants for 18-year-old Senciere Russell and a 17-year-old juvenile suspect. On May 5, 2026, GSU detectives located and arrested Senciere Russell and the juvenile suspect in South Sacramento (close to the Fastrip) for outstanding arrest warrants. Russell and the juvenile suspect were booked into the Sacramento Main Jail and Sacramento Juvenile Hall, respectively.
This is still an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information on any of the additional parties involved is asked to contact detectives at 916-874-5041.”
