El Cajon Traffic Stop Results in Significant Narcotics and Weapons Seizure
EL CAJON, CA — Officers with the El Cajon Police Department conducted a significant narcotics and weapons seizure on April 19, 2026, following a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of one suspect.
The incident began as a routine traffic enforcement stop. During the initial contact, officers observed a concealed firearm within the vehicle. The suspect was detained, and a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a loaded handgun along with additional weapons.
Furthermore, investigators located approximately 73 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials. According to officials, the search also yielded evidence indicating the illegal sale of narcotics. Following the discovery, authorities confirmed that the suspect had prior drug-related convictions.
The individual was taken into custody and booked into the local jail on multiple charges. The department cited the incident as a result of proactive enforcement efforts aimed at removing illegal substances and firearms from the community.
