Ontario Resident Arrested for Robbery Following Facebook Marketplace Transaction

IRVINE, CA – Detectives with the Irvine Police Department arrested an 18-year-old Ontario resident following a robbery involving a Facebook Marketplace transaction at the Woodbury Town Center.

The incident occurred on March 28, 2026, when a seller met with a prospective buyer to complete the sale of an Apple iPad. During the encounter, the individual grabbed the device from the seller and fled the scene. Through an investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Darrion Dajuan Taylor.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, detectives located and arrested Taylor on charges of robbery. A subsequent search of Taylor’s vehicle led to the discovery of a firearm. Following the arrest, the stolen iPad was recovered and returned to its owner.

In response to the incident, authorities reminded the public that the Irvine Police Department provides a monitored 24/7 e-commerce exchange zone in its parking lot to facilitate safer transactions for residents buying or selling items online.
