Redwood Valley Juvenile Arrested for Alleged Assault, Public Intoxication
REDWOOD VALLEY, CA — Deputies in Mendocino County reportedly arrested a juvenile suspect in connection with an alleged assault late last week.
On the morning of Friday, April 10, deputies responded to the area of Coyote Valley Boulevard and North State Street to investigate a reported disturbance involving a juvenile female, according to a press release by the sheriff’s office.
Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with an employee of a nearby gas station, who reportedly told them they’d seen a female juvenile “running after a vehicle and striking its windows as it drove away.”
Deputies soon located a 17-year-old juvenile female in the area who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, unable to care for herself, and appeared to have sustained an injury to her wrist.
At one point, the female juvenile allegedly attempted to run after another vehicle that was not involved in the incident, resulting in her being detained. Medical personnel responded to the scene to evaluate her injury, according to the sheriff’s office.
Beginning an investigation, deputies contacted a 21-year-old woman who had reported that the juvenile turned up at her residence at the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians, resulting in an initially verbal confrontation that escalated to physical.
During this incident, the juvenile female allegedly threw multiple large rocks, causing injuries to her arm.
Deputies discovered that the juvenile had allegedly thrown a rock, weighing about ten pounds, through the rear window of the victim’s vehicle, causing over $400 in damage. The rock was reportedly located inside the vehicle.
Deputies ultimately arrested the female juvenile on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, vandalism of more than $400, and public intoxication. She was reportedly booked into juvenile hall.
