Homicide Investigation Underway After Fatal Stabbing in Barrio Logan
SAN DIEGO, CA-The San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit has launched an investigation following a fatal stabbing in Barrio Logan late Friday night. On March 27, 2026, at approximately 11:13 p.m., police dispatch received multiple reports regarding an individual stabbed in the south alley located at 1600 Logan Avenue.
Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers observed a 28-year-old male of Somali descent collapse. Medical assistance was administered by a bystander, police officers, and arriving paramedics. The individual was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities are withholding the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
Preliminary findings by investigators indicate that the victim was surrounded by a group consisting of three Hispanic males and one Hispanic female before being attacked by members of the group. Following the incident, officers detained one male and one female for questioning. Both individuals have since been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
Homicide detectives remained in the area throughout Saturday to collect physical evidence and canvass for witnesses. No further suspect descriptions have been released by officials at this time.
