Convicted Felon with Active Felony Warrant Taken Into Custody After 3 A.M. Fairfield Stop
FAIRFIELD, CA — Fairfield police arrested a convicted felon with an active felony warrant during an early morning traffic stop after he reportedly refused to identify himself to officers.
In a press release, the Fairfield Police Department reported that officers on patrol had pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of West Texas Street and Beck Avenue just after 3 a.m. on Monday, March 29th.
The driver allegedly refused to identify himself and was lawfully removed from the vehicle as a result, police said.
Officers ultimately identified him as 40 year old Brian Baring, and discovered an active felony warrant for his arrest in relation to docket number F24-01535. Officers allegedly also found suspected cocaine on his person.
Officers also searched his vehicle and discovered a loaded Springfield 911 handgun in a bag in the backseat, which Baring cannot legally possess due to being a convicted felon, according to police.
Records from the Solano County Justice Center Detention Facility indicate Baring was booked at 4:50 a.m. (Booking No. 2026002844) with his total bail set at $135,000. He is scheduled for an initial appearance regarding case number 26-03023 at the Solano County Superior Court on Tuesday, April 1, at 1:30 p.m. He remains in custody as of press time.
