Brandishing Suspect Arrested After Two-Hour Standoff in Campbell

CAMPBELL, CA — March 27th 2026

“At approximately 5:51 pm, Campbell Police received a 911 call from an individual near Edith Morley Park reporting that a male in a white panel van threatened them with what appeared to be a firearm and then fled the area.

Officers in the area located a vehicle matching the description and observed it drive into a storage facility on Curtner Avenue. The driver remained inside the vehicle, and officers maintained continuous visual contact, with the department’s drone team providing close-range observation of the suspect. The registered owner of the vehicle was identified as Joshua Koloditch, a 46-year-old transient.

Officers established a perimeter and made multiple attempts to contact the individual, while utilizing various de-escalation techniques. Koloditch did not respond to verbal commands or phone calls. The Santa Clara Police Department responded to assist, and additional attempts to communicate with the individual were unsuccessful. Officers then deployed a noise flash diversionary device and other less-lethal tools.

Around 8:30pm, following these efforts, Koloditch voluntarily exited the vehicle. As officers issued commands for him to move away from the vehicle, Koloditch made a movement toward re-entering it. At that time, a K-9 was deployed to safely make the arrest with no further incident.

Koloditch was provided medical attention at the scene and transported to a local hospital. He was arrested for brandishing a deadly weapon (other than a firearm), criminal threats, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.”
