14-Year-Old Suspect Arrested as Suspect in Redwood City Stabbing

REDWOOD CITY, CA — “On March 24, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers with the Redwood City Police Department responded to a report of a physical altercation in the 2100 block of Broadway.

Upon arrival, officers determined that an 18-year-old male and a 14-year-old male juvenile had been involved in a fight. During the altercation, the juvenile suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

The victim sustained injuries to his face, as well as non-life-threatening stab wounds. He declined medical treatment at the scene.

Through follow-up investigation, officers were able to positively identify the juvenile suspect. Later that day, he was located at his residence in Redwood City and taken into custody without incident.

The suspect was subsequently booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center for violation of Penal Code §245(a)(1) — Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
