One Arrested in Connection to Seneca Hospital Construction Site Burglary in Chester CA

Chester, CA — On February 2, 2026, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding a burglary at the construction site of the new Seneca Hospital building located in Chester, California. Upon arriving at the scene, responding deputies determined that tools and equipment valued at over $50,000.00 had been taken from the site. Additionally, officials reported that a U-Haul truck and trailer were stolen from a nearby U-Haul business in Chester during the same period.

The Plumas County Investigations Unit arrived to assist with the subsequent investigation. Investigators reviewed several hours of surveillance footage obtained from surrounding businesses and conducted a series of interviews to identify potential leads. Through these efforts, three suspects were identified, all of whom were determined to be residents of the Sacramento area.

Members of the Investigations Unit extended their search to Sacramento, where they conducted further interviews and searches. These actions resulted in the recovery of several items of evidence related to the case. Following a review by the Plumas County District Attorney’s Office, arrest warrants were issued for the three suspects on charges of burglary (459 PC) and grand theft (487 PC).

As of the current release, one suspect has been apprehended and taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement continues to seek the remaining individuals. Further details and specific suspect information are being withheld pending the arrest of the two outstanding suspects.
