OXNARD, CA — A late-night stabbing in an Oxnard parking lot left a young man seriously injured and led
to the arrest of two local suspects.
Detectives identified the suspects as Diego Arellano, 19, and Alexis Arellano, 18, both residents of Oxnard.
Det. Diego Estrada, of the Oxnard Police Department the violence unfolded
around 1:15 a.m. on March 12, when a 22-year-old Oxnard man was attacked by the Arellano’s
and suffered multiple stab wounds to his lower torso.
Officers first became aware of the incident after the victim arrived at St. John’s Regional Medical
Center seeking treatment. When police contacted him at the hospital, “he reported that two male

The Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation, working to
piece together what led up to the attack.

contact with him, Arellano tried to run from officers before ultimately being taken into custody.
He was transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on suspicion of assault with a
deadly weapon, causing great bodily injury and conspiracy.
Four days later, on March 17, investigators tracked down Diego Arellano. Members of the
department’s Special Enforcement Unit made contact with him and “carried out the arrest
without incident.”

charges as his sibling.
Both Arellano brothers remain in custody on a no-bail hold.
