Twentynine Palms Resident Arrested on Murder Charges Following Death Investigation

TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA  — On March 13, 2026, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a death investigation in Twentynine Palms after discovering a deceased woman at a local residence. The incident began at approximately 8:03 a.m. when deputies responded to a vehicle check in the 6500 block of Adobe Road. A Toyota Tacoma was reportedly blocking a fire department facility gate, leading investigators to a home in the 74900 block of Aladdin Drive.

Upon arrival at the Aladdin Drive property, deputies located two unsupervised children inside the primary residence. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of the children’s mother, 34-year-old Jessica Nicole Phillips, deceased within the garage. The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail assumed control of the scene to process evidence.

At approximately 10:40 a.m., deputies located the children’s father, 34-year-old Isaac Matthew Angel, walking near Sunrise Drive and Araby Avenue. Following an interview and evidence review, detectives identified Angel as the suspect. He was arrested on murder charges under California Penal Code 187 and is currently held without bail.
