Operation Consequences Leads to Multiple Felony Arrests and Firearm Seizures
SAN BERNARDINO, CA – Between March 2, 2026 and March 8, 2026, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, in coordination with patrol deputies and partnering agencies, conducted a series of law enforcement actions across the county. During this one-week operational period, investigators served nine search warrants and contacted various subjects. Concurrently, the San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team (SET) performed proactive patrols within the City of San Bernardino and its surrounding jurisdictions.
The week-long effort resulted in 12 felony arrests. Law enforcement personnel contacted individuals identified as gang members and persons legally prohibited from possessing firearms. In the course of the investigations, seven firearms were seized, two were identified as ghost guns.
These actions are part of a broader initiative known as Operation Consequences, which is supported by funding authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors for county-wide crime suppression. The allocated funds are intended to increase law enforcement services regarding quality-of-life issues within the county.
Operation Consequences is scheduled to continue over several months, focusing on targeted suppression operations in the High Desert and areas surrounding the City of San Bernardino. Participating agencies include the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, the California Highway Patrol, the San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations. The stated objectives of the operation are to address violent crime, disrupt criminal street gangs, and apprehend individuals involved in the illegal possession, manufacture, or trafficking of firearms.
