AUBURN, CA — MARCH 6TH 2026 — “Anthony Bondarenko, 18, of Roseville, was arrested by deputies of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) on March 4, following a criminal threats investigation that began that same day.
On the afternoon of March 4, high school officials at Forest Lake Christian High School in Auburn contacted one of NCSO’s school resource officers to report a student, identified as Bondarenko, had allegedly expressed interest in carrying out a criminal threat of violence the following day at the school.
School was no longer in session at the time of the reporting but with an event taking place that evening, NCSO deputies staffed the school out of an abundance of caution.

“We want to encourage students, faculty, and parents to always report suspicious activity and possible threats of violence,” said NCSO Captain Russell Greene. “For anyone who may fear making such a report, they can always provide tips anonymously on our website or by using our anonymous tip line.”
