Palm Springs Police Investigate Fatal Shooting at Private Event

PALM SPRINGS, CA — The Palm Springs Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation following a shooting that occurred on February 28, 2026. At approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 19400 block of North Indian Canyon Drive after receiving several 911 calls reporting a physical altercation and gunfire. Initial reports from the scene indicated a victim was located in a parking lot and several individuals were seen departing the area on motorcycles.

Upon arrival, law enforcement located two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office is tasked with the formal identification of the deceased. In addition to the two fatalities, three other individuals sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were independently transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.

Preliminary findings suggest the incident took place during a private event hosted by a motorcycle club at a nearby industrial complex. According to investigators, a disagreement or altercation occurred during the gathering, which resulted in gunfire. Detectives are currently working to establish the specific circumstances that led to the shooting and to identify the parties involved.

The investigation remains active as personnel process the scene and conduct witness interviews.
