MAGALIA, CA — “On Monday, March 2nd, 2026, at approximately 1:08 a.m., a Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy initiated a traffic stop on a Ford truck on Rosewood Drive in Magalia, due to a vehicle code violation.

During the stop, the driver, identified as Jason Nystrom, age 53 of Magalia, was found to be on felony parole for burglary. A search under parole terms revealed methamphetamine in his jacket pocket.

Nystrom was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and a parole violation. Additionally, due to the enhanced penalties under Proposition 36 for individuals with two or more prior drug-related convictions, a felony drug charge was added to the booking.”
