LINCOLN, CA — “On Feb. 23, 2026, the Lincoln Police Department received a call regarding a possible fraud in progress.
Officers responded and located an elderly couple with an unknown individual attempting to repair their personal vehicle.
Through an investigation, the elderly couple were identified as the victims of a vehicle repair fraud scheme where the suspect would attempt to “fix” a vehicle while asking the victims to withdraw cash from a nearby ATM.
The “fixing” caused additional damage to the victims vehicle.
Officers conducted a probation search of the suspects vehicle on scene and located approximately $23,000 in cash, which was seized. Two individuals, Tony John, 45, and Sally Adamo, also 45, were arrested for felony elder abuse, conspiracy and vandalism.
We believe there could be additional victims of this fraud scheme in Lincoln. If you feel as though you were a victim, please contact our non-emergency line at 916-645-4040.”
