THOUSAND OAKS, CA  — A 72-year-old Simi Valley woman is in custody after investigators linked her to the sale of illegal
narcotics in the Thousand Oaks area.

According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Jonathan James, detectives
began looking into Judith Woods in January 2026 “after developing information that she was
supplying drugs locally and acting as a source for other dealers.”

Over the following weeks, investigators gathered evidence that led to the service of search warrants targeting Woods, her
vehicles and her residence.

On February 19, members of the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit contacted and
detained Woods while additional teams moved in to carry out the search warrant.

During the search, investigators reported finding “more than an ounce of methamphetamine, over $26,000 in
cash and items of sales paraphernalia” indicating that Woods was “actively involved in the
distribution of controlled substances” within the community.

Woods was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and transported
to the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for booking, where she remains in custody in
lieu of $500,000 bail.
