Fairfield Police Reportedly Seize Weapons Across Two Separate Incidents

FAIRFIELD, CA — “Officers continued working at a busy pace on Tuesday, responding to two separate incidents in which alert citizens reported individuals armed with firearms.

At approximately 11:36 a.m., a victim reported the driver of a vehicle pointed a firearm at him near Travis Boulevard and Clay Street. The victim continued to update dispatchers with the vehicle’s location, allowing officers to locate it in the 1700 block of N. Texas Street. Officers contacted the driver and found a firearm in his possession. The suspect, 47‑year‑old Kalil Macklin, was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm and carrying a concealed firearm. Thanks to the victim’s quick reporting and detailed updates, officers were able to resolve the situation safely and efficiently.

At approximately 1:19 p.m., another alert citizen contacted the police department after seeing a man hide a firearm in his clothing in the 1300 block of Travis Boulevard. Officers quickly responded and located the suspect leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers conducted a stop on the vehicle and detained the occupants. During the investigation, a loaded firearm was recovered from the vehicle. The suspect, 26‑year‑old David Jones, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm in a public place and possessing a high‑capacity magazine.

Both incidents highlight the importance of vigilant community members reporting dangerous activity to law enforcement.”
