Oxnard Man Arrested: Suspected of Selling Marijuana to Minors

– By F. Scott Faulkner

CAMARILLO, CA  —  Oxnard resident Francisco Vega, 18,  is facing a felony charge after an investigation into
illegal marijuana sales to minors that began last fall in the Camarillo.

According Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sr. Deputy Matthew Koenig,
deputies assigned to the Camarillo Community Resource Unit first developed information in
October 2025 “suggesting marijuana was being sold to underage buyers” within the city. Because
of the nature of the allegations, detectives with the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit joined
the investigation.

Over the following months, investigators determined the suspected sales were not confined to
Camarillo, but “extended to other parts of Ventura County” and subsequently identified the
suspected seller as Vega. At that point, “multiple search warrants” were obtained authorizing a
search of Vega’s residence, property, and person.

At approximately 7 a.m. February 17, investigators served the warrant at
Vega’s home in Oxnard and took him into custody. During the search, detectives reported finding
additional items “consistent with illegal marijuana sales.”

Vega was arrested and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was book on suspicion of
violating California Health and Safety Code Section 11361(b), which prohibits the sale of
marijuana to minors.
