Suspect Arrested for a Triple Shooting in Marin City that Killed One Victim

MARIN CITY, CA — A man was arrested following a triple shooting at the Golden Gate Village
public housing complex in Marin City on February 15.
A burst of gunfire erupted there at approximately 10:15 a.m. The suspect Darryl G. S. Miller, 21, of San Rafael, was
apprehended the following day.
The crime occurred outside on the 100 block of Drake Avenue. Marin County Sheriff’s Office
detectives identified Miller as the suspected gunman, based on surveillance videos and
witness statements.
One victim Michael A. Rogers, 42, of Oakland, was pronounced dead at a hospital. The two
unidentified victims are a woman who was sitting inside a vehicle with Rogers, and man who
was nearby. The two survivors received medical treatment at a hospital for their gunshot
injuries.
County detectives tracked Miller to San Rafael, with investigative assistance from Novato
police. Detectives led the apprehension team with help from sheriff’s deputies and San Rafael
police. Sheriff’s deputies and SRPD set up a perimeter, while detectives moved in to make
the arrest.
Miller was booked at Marin County Jail, where he remains in custody ineligible for release on
bond. He was booked on suspicion of murder and two counts of attempted murder. Miller
was also booked on special allegations for personal use of a firearm to cause death or great
bodily injury.
The suspect is no stranger to law enforcement. At the time of his arrest, Miller was on
probation for a 2024 conviction involving a firearm. He was also arrested in late 2025 for
allegedly participating in sideshow and evading police in San Rafael.
