Statewide VICE Trafficking Prevention Operation Leads to Two Arrests in Fresno County
FRESNO, CA — “On Wednesday, January 18,2026, as part of National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, the Fresno Police Department participated in a statewide VICE operation targeting human traffickers, sex purchasers, and men meeting minors for sexual acts. The operation resulted in multiple arrests, with two suspects arrested for arriving to meet minors for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts. Both suspects were booked into the Fresno County Jail for attempted lewd acts with a child under the age of 14 and for contacting a minor with intent for sex.
The following agencies assisted in the operation: Special Operations Finding Kids, the Department of Homeland Security (HSI), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Clovis Police Department, and the Axis Hotel Group. The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has assigned a Deputy District Attorney Nicole Idiart to the VICE team.
We are thankful for the relationship with Breaking the Chains (BTC), and Central Valley Against Human Trafficking (CVAHT). The Fresno Police Department is dedicated to the prevention of these sexually motivated criminal offenses, as well as Human and Labor Trafficking not only during National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, but throughout the entire year.
