SDPD Shuts Down Illegal Gambling Operation in Teralta West

SAN DIEGO, CA — FEBRUARY 5TH 2026

“On February 4, 2026, SDPD executed a search warrant in the Teralta West neighborhood following an investigation into an illegal gambling operation linked to community complaints of narcotics and prostitution activity.

Multiple SDPD units, including SWAT, Narcotics, Vice, Special Operations, Unmanned Aerial Systems, and Mid-City Division, participated in the operation on the 4300 block of Central Ave. The enforcement action resulted in four arrests, the seizure of nine illegal gambling machines, cash, and the recovery of a loaded firearm.

Illegal gambling operations pose serious risks to neighborhoods, often attracting additional criminal activity and creating unsafe conditions for residents and nearby businesses.
