Visalia Police Detain Suspect Following Linked Hit-and-Run and Assault on South Lovers Lane

VISALIA, CA — FEBRUARY 4TH 2026

UPDATED PRESS RELEASE: 

“The Visalia Police Department has identified the victim and suspect in the fatal assault that occurred yesterday at an apartment complex on South Lovers Lane.

The victim has been identified as 75-year-old Myrna Otherson. The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Miguel Mora Camacho, who has been booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility on charges of homicide.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE:

“At approximately 11:33 a.m., Visalia Police officers responded to a reported hit-and-run collision in the 3200 block of South Lovers Lane.

While responding, officers received additional information regarding an assault reported north of that location.

Officers determined the incidents were connected, with the assault taking place at an apartment complex in the 2800 block of South Lovers Lane. The victim was transported to Kaweah Health for medical treatment. A suspect was detained at the apartment complex.

The Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Lab responded to the scene, and the Violent Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation. This remains an active scene, and investigators are still on location.”
