Two Arrested in Coleville Following Search Warrant and Embezzlement Investigation
COLEVILLE, CA – On January 16, 2026, the Mono County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence located in Coleville, California. The law enforcement action was part of an investigation into theft and embezzlement within the community. According to a press release issued by Sheriff Ingrid Braun on January 19, 2026, the service of the warrant resulted in the arrest of two individuals.
The suspects have been identified as Alicia Cortes-Castaneda and Eucario “Jose” Toledo-Garcia. Both individuals face multiple criminal charges, including grand theft, embezzlement, and possession of stolen property. Additionally, they have been charged with conspiracy and acting as an accessory after the fact. Following their arrest, Cortes-Castaneda and Toledo-Garcia were transported to the Mono County Jail for booking.
The Mono County Sheriff’s Office noted that both individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
