WILLOWS, CA — JANUARY 2ND 2026
“The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a possible burglary located at an apartment complex on South Tehama Street in Willows on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:25 p.m. Deputies responded and upon initial clearing of the apartment, a shot was fired by a suspect barricaded in the bathroom.
Deputies were unable to communicate with the suspect and contacted Butte County Sheriff’s Office to request the regional SWAT team to assist with the barricaded subject. Residents in the area were placed under a shelter in place and road blocks were put into place around the 200 block of South Tehama during the incident.
Butte County SWAT deployed and was unable to successfully communicate with the suspect. Upon entry, the suspect was found deceased. This incident is under investigation, no further information available at this time. The shelter in place order has been lifted for the area.”
